Where are we?

Loire Propriétés is located 20 km south of Angers in the heart of the Anjou vineyards. Today, Loire Propriétés brings together 3 Wineries: les Caves de la Loire in Brissac-Quincé (49), la Cave des Vins de Rabelais in Chinon (37) and la Confrérie des Vignerons de Oisly et Thésée in Touraine (41).

With these different sites located near the majestic Loire river (a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2000), Loire Propriétés has become world renowned.

Who are we?

An association of cooperative wineries, Loire Propriétés is above all a group of winegrowers who are dedicated to their terroir. A terroir brimming with history and passionate know-how.  Loire Propriétés is also a team devoted to wine, oenologists, technicians and sales representatives…70 employees fully committed to the Wine industry.

Les Caves de la Loire

Les Caves de la Loire boasts 140 to 150 winegrowers and represents 1,600 hectares of vineyards in the Anjou and Saumur regions. At the foot of the Château de Brissac, the tallest castle in France, les Caves de la Loire stands out as one of the region's viticultural jewels and is an institution that boasts unrivaled know-how.

Les Caves de la Loire were IFS/BRC certified in 2005. Since 2012, all of the winegrowers have chosen to comply with the Agriconfiance® Quality Charter contract, which includes quality and environmental safety specifications. Taking these measures a step further, the winery has shown its commitment to Sustainable Development with the VDD analysis conducted in 2011.

La Cave des Vins de Rabelais

La Cave des Vins de Rabelais has been operating in the Chinon region since 1989. The winery draws its strength first and foremost from its winegrowers, who strive daily to endow their wines with the best the Chinon terroir has to offer. 56 winegrowers cultivate Cabernet Franc near the Fortress of Chinon (160 to 300 hectares).

Since 2012, 15 winegrowers, representing 50% of the volume produced, have signed an Agriconfiance® contract, which includes quality and environmental safety specifications. This approach was adopted based on the "viticulture and integrated farming" specifications that have been implemented since 2005.

Taking these measures a step further, the winery has shown its commitment to Sustainable Development with the VDD analysis conducted in 2011.

La Confrérie des Vignerons de Oilsy et Thésée

La Confrérie des Vignerons de Oilsy et Thésée was founded in 1961 by a small group of independent winegrowers. Today, the winery brings together 25 winegrowers who cultivate approximately 250 hectares of vineyards. The Confrérie is organized in a way that makes it possible to isolate the production of each vineyard in order to separately vinify the grapes. The main goal is to preserve the wealth and specific characteristics of each terroir.

The implementation of AgriConfiance® is scheduled for 2013.

What do we produce?

The 3 cooperative wineries produce the leading appellations from the Loire Valley: Rosés from Anjou (Cabernet d’Anjou, Rosé d’Anjou and Rosé de Loire), Chinon and Touraine.

Every year, the teams' work is rewarded with numerous medals. In particular, the 3 consecutive "Coups de Cœur" awards given by the Hachette Wine Guide for Rosé d’Anjou from the Caves de la Loire, international awards for sauvignon produced by the Confrérie and the Gold medal from the "Concours Agricole de Paris" for our top-of-the range Chinon.

Loire Propriétés also boasts a wide range of domaines and châteaux, cooperatives that are equipped with the tools needed for the vinification of small productions. This allows Loire Propriétés to preserve the terroirs and showcase the full richness of the vineyard.

The purpose of these different measures is simple: to provide our clients with healthy, safe and high quality products, while protecting the environment.
