Initiatives implemented
by this Vigneron en Développement Durable :

Who are we?

Our vineyards spread out over 36 districts south of Carcassonne. The soil is mainly made up of Bartonian clay-limestone formations and gravelly Quaternary terraces. Our vineyards benefit from a transitional climate, with both oceanic and Mediterranean influences. These pedoclimatic conditions are particularly favorable for our main grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for red wines, Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc for white wines and Cinsault for rosé wines.

Who are we?

Founded in 1947, Cave du Razès now includes approximately thirty winegrowers. Its vineyards are located at the foothills of the Malepère Massif between Limoux and Castelnaudary, which is classified as a Natura 2000 site.

For 25 years, the Cave du Razès and its winegrowers have endeavored to improve the quality of their products, particularly due to the constant renewal of the vineyards and significant investments made to update production tools. Today, thanks to its 298 winegrowers and 3,230 hectares of vineyards, the Cave du Razès is one of the leading producers of AOP Malepère and IGP Oc, from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.

Concerned about their impact on the environment, the Cave du Razès naturally joined the Vignerons en Développement Durableassociation when it was launched in 2007. Since 2010, the Cave du Razès has met the requirements of the association's guidelines and is proud to display the logo from this collective trademark on all of its packaged products as well as communication materials for professionals and the general public.  It is the reflection of the work accomplished by its winegrowers who share a great passion for their profession and respect for their environment.

What do we produce?

The Cave du Razès produces white, rosé and mainly red wines.

The top-of-the-range line is made up of appellation Malepère AOP wines produced from rigorously selected plots and vinified using traditional methods.

Our core range is composed of Protected Geographical Indication products (IGP), IGP Côtes de Prouilhe and IGP Oc: wines produced using Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.

Part of our production is sold directly from our wine cellar, located within the winery where you can discover our wide range of wines.
